Privacy statement

You provide us with personal data for the handling of your case. For example, if you send us documents, if you call us, e-mail us, write a letter or if you speak to someone from our office. We think it is important that you know that you can rely on us to handle your (personal) data carefully and confidentially. We explain this in more detail in this statement.

What are personal data?
Personal data is any information about an identified or identifiable natural person. This means that information is either directly about someone or can be traced back to this person. The fact that it must concern a natural person means that data of deceased persons or organizations are not personal data. Examples of personal data are: your name, address details and your telephone number. Sensitive data such as someone’s race, religion or data about your health are also referred to as special personal data. These need extra protection.

Whose personal data do we process?
We process personal data of our clients and relations. This is part of our business operations.

What do we use your personal data for?
The personal data you have provided to us will only be processed for the following purposes:

  • to do the agreed work properly, efficiently and effectively;
  • to contact you for the purpose of our services;
  • to contact you if you have applied for a job with us;
  • for informational purposes (including sending and invitations to seminars/events).

We only use the personal data for these purposes and never pass on the personal data to third parties without your permission or on the basis of another basis. If we are allowed to pass on the data with permission or on the basis of another basis, we will impose the same protection and security measures on the third party as we use ourselves.

The processing takes place on the basis of one of the following bases:

  1. the processing is necessary for entering into and the performance of the agreement between you and Booij Legal & Tax;
  2. the processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation;
  3. you have given permission for this.

Which personal data do we process?
We process the following personal data:

  • First name and surname
  • Position and title(s)
  • Company Name
  • Contact and billing address
  • Email address(es)
  • Phone number(s)
  • Date of birth
  • Sex
  • Financial data (if necessary for the execution of the service and/or invoicing)
  • Criminal data (in the context of handling a case)
  • Any other data that you have provided to us without obligation.

We do not process personal data that we have not obtained directly from you.

How do we handle your personal data?
When processing personal data, Booij Legal & Tax adheres to the rules prescribed by privacy legislation. This means that we only collect and process personal data if there is a basis and purpose for this. Only the personal data that is necessary is collected and the personal data is then only processed for that specific purpose. We keep an eye on the nature of the personal data and adjust an appropriate technical and organizational level of security accordingly. You can therefore assume that we handle personal data carefully, safely and confidentially.

Confidentiality
The services provided by Booij legal & Tax require that our colleagues have access to your personal data. In order to guarantee the protection of your personal data here too, our colleagues have signed a confidentiality statement. We hereby impose on our office colleagues that they keep your personal data absolutely confidential and that they handle the data you entrust to us with care. It is important to know that only authorized personnel may process your data.

Inspection and correction of your data
We collect and process personal data from you, but of course this data remains yours. That is why we always offer you the opportunity to see what information we have about you. If the information is incorrect, you can request that it be corrected or removed. Retention period
We do not store your data longer than is necessary for the purpose for which we obtained the data from you. The criteria for determining the retention period of your personal data are: (a) the duration of the agreement with Booij Legal & Tax (b) the existence of a statutory retention obligation or period or (c) the existence of a (potential) claim or dispute in connection with which the data should be kept.

Cookies
When you visit our website, cookies may be placed on your computer, tablet or smartphone. This only concerns functional cookies to allow the website to function properly. Booij Legal & Tax does not use cookies that process personal data.

Amendments
Booij Legal & Tax reserves the right to make changes to this privacy statement. We therefore recommend that you regularly check whether anything has been changed.
